A practicum for doing and enjoying biomedical research.
A common initiative of the Journal of Electrocardiology, Croatian Medical Journal, Anatolian Journal of Cardiology, Monitor of Medicine of the Slovak Medical Society, Balkan Medical Journal, Central Asian Medical Journal, Bulletin of Kyrgyz State Medical Academy, Family Physician, Ukrainian Journal of Cardiology (e-version), Heart -Vessels and Transplantation, Cardio-Vascular System.
The IRIS program provides an environment for developing skills to carry out research projects, based on a practical, problem-based approach; and to establish enjoyable cross discipline/cross cultural collaboration. The overall “University without Walls” program is based on creating links among participants to build a network for the dissemination of the experience and skills acquired during the IRIS to establish a working environment for emerging bio-medical scientists through collaboration on common projects.The program of the IRIS is flexible to include ad hoc topics that can arise during the discussion, such as preparation of manuscript of a scientific paper, the communication with the editorial office of scientific journals, the review process, how to deal with the reviewers’ comments and many others.
Aims:Development of skills to carry out research projects, based on a practical, problem-based approach; and to establish enjoyable cross discipline/cross cultural collaboration.
Eligible Participants: Undergraduate and postgraduate biomedical students: medicine; physiology; public health; biophysics; bio-engineering; computer science, etc.
